The requirement of Independent Directors on the boards of Indian Companies has therefore gone up multifold due to the amendments in the Companies Act (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations. Also the compulsory appointment of Woman Director on the Board of these Companies has increased the requirement of experienced and qualified Women Directors.
